Gary Govett

 

Gary Govett moved to the Arlington area with is wife after retiring in 2007 from a career as a Marriage and Family Therapist. He has studied and practiced drawing and painting for over 40 years. He works in oils, watercolor, gouache, pastels, oil pastels, colored pencil, pencil and charcoal. He specializes in landscapes, but also paints and draws portraits, still life and abstract subjects.

Gary has won awards for his oil and gouache paintings. He has taught art to children from 8 to 18 years old and has mentored students that have won awards for mural, drawing and painting. He has used art as a fundamental tool in his therapy with clients of all ages and believes that creativity is a cornerstone of good mental health.
